INTRODUCTION

AUDIENCE
This pathfinder largely focuses on women’s issues in journalism, touching on inequality in representation, sexual assault, violence and discrimination. Due to the amount of statistical information found in several of the sources it would be most useful for students at an undergraduate level. It could easily be utilized by women's studies or journalism students. It could also be handy at a senior high school level for individuals interesting in pursuing the field of journalism and wanting to gain an understanding of gender roles in the field.

CONTENT
This pathfinder includes four websites, a video presentation, three journal articles, two reference books, and a personal memoir all centered around the topics of women in journalism and media. Most of the sources weave historical information and statistical data and analysis of the current state of media coverage of women and the experiences and work of women in the journalism profession. I included a memoir as an additional source - I read it in high school and ten years later it still sticks with me as a great (kind of scary) account of what life can be like for a female journalist.
